I prefer ducks, nice sociable creatures. A bit messy to keep, as they love water, but it's very nice seeing them come running towards you everyday quacking. Nicer tasting eggs too.

Anyway, I don't think these chicks are suffering too much although i'm sure it's not exactly pleasant being chucked about like that. The suffering starts when they get to the "customer" who de-beaks them, jams them in an overcrowded cage with no floor, and pumps them full of drugs.
