These have been around for a long time It's NOT an ion wind. If you research how to make one of these cool little science projects you'll find out the voltages needed to lift this thing are enormous. Not one for the little kids but fun and cool nonetheless.

Meanwhile consider that this may become a feasible way of aeronautics if we perfect a cold-fusion engine or something similar, which will put out enormous amounts of high-voltage and still be mobile. We could finally have those nifty flying cars seen in the sci-fi flicks.
