    I've dealt with enough asshole cops that I probably wouldn't have been able to hold my temper. I could just see myself swinging my board and cracking him in the temple for approaching me like that. I don't know if I'd even be able to stop at that. I've been arrested for 'disorderly conduct' under even more questionable circumstances. And from what I can tell, it's such a loosely defined law that even the slightest -perceived disrespect- could result in your arrest. Even if you were making every attempt to be polite, if the cop in question were having a particularly bad day, he could probably arrest you based on the suspicion that you're being patronizing. Vague but enforceable laws, and ever-increasing authority are further reasons why the police are becoming the enemy of the common citizen. Our society (and indeed society in general) have a tendency to believe authority to be self-justifying, so it seems a majority of us are either content to prostrate ourselves, or are so willfully ignorant as to believe that bad things never happen to good people.
