Perhaps the placement may not have been wise, but surely they cannot demand it down. It doesn't insult anyone, only offers support for those who, especially in a religious community, may feel isolated in their disbelief.

Poor, put-upon Christians. ...Oh. Wait.

After seeing the billboard, Team of Life community activist Essie "Big Mama" Reed brought her students out to protest it Wednesday afternoon. "Nothing else matters, but that sign needs to come down. In the name of Jesus," Big Mama chanted, as she led her students in protest. beautiful :)

Ah, the old "You have freedom of religion, but you must have a religion," argument. Another clear example of Christians not willing to play on the same field as atheists.

Christians offended by an atheist billboard, what's new? If only people could realize that there ARE people who do NOT believe in god. Not everyone believes in god, and there's no law in the book forcing them to do so. So much for preaching tolerance and love for thy neighbor...

I don't believe in god, but I have been open minded up to this point. The more and more the matters come up, the less I feel inclined to defend the intelligence of people like this. Christianity is a crutch for the fearful and confused. There is no point trying to prove them wrong anymore. I went to catholic school as a child, and I had a lot of "faith." It stopped making sense to me as I got in trouble for questioning my teachers about god constantly. I soon realized my "faith" was just a shared feeling of repetition towards the subject of it. It's bullshit, hammered into your brain. It's not a feeling, it's something people force themselves to TRY and feel. The world would be a better, smarter place without people of "Faith". I know it sounds extreme, but I have run out of tolerance for intolerant people.

maybe if children were raised to believe in *self-accountability* instead of a higher power there wouldn't be so many problems in schools. They would take responsibility for themselves and their community, knowing it was up to them, and *not* said higher power.
