Holy shits,...Didn't blog this at first but now after a week or so.. like so many people(?) like to copy and paste some link words to this new Microsoft product. All I can say is um... google earth cosmos view babies, already here and ..like the exact same thing (am I wrong). I love that google does this and rolls it out quietly as a product upgrade, whereas microsoft races to catch up and announces their (not working program) like the second coming of Christ. LoL

Usually I'm not a fan of Microsoft but their WorldWide Telescope has great visuals. Check it out!

I remember seeing a WWT presentation at Yuri's Night 2008 outside San Francisco. It was presented right after a demonstration of Uniview, which made WWT look incredibly anemic. However, for free software... hell, for software that we mere mortals can even have unrestricted access to, it is extremely competent.

The WorldWide Telescope (WWT) is a Web 2.0 visualization software environment that enables your computer to function as a virtual telescope--bringing together imagery from the best ground and space-based telescopes in the world for a seamless exploration of the universe.

An amazing site by Microsoft lets you zoom in the planets and starts. Really cool and free too!

All in all, extremely impressive. Intuitive navigation and stunningly beautiful pictures make this worth trying.

Beautiful pictures, nice interface, multiple views. Amazing project from Microsoft. And it's free! If you like it, you should visit on-line projects with similar capabilities - Google Sky (http://google.com/sky) and WikiSky (http://wikisky.org)
