Work is the curse of the drinking classes! Seriously though, I think the working week should be reduced from what it is currently. There are too many people being driven to an early grave with too much work and others who can't find any reasonably paid work who want to work. The trouble is, too many employers want good value for money out of their employees without regard for the worker's health. As much profit as they can squeeze out is the end goal. There really is no need for so much over-production and over-consumption in society. Granted, prices would go up if people were paid more for less hours but we tend to consume more than we need anyway, so it wouldn't be such a bad thing, and it is a small price to pay in exchange for more time, more energy, better physical and mental health, less unemployment leading to less alienation in society.

I've been working 32 hours a week for some time and collecting 100 bucks a week from the govt for my hardship. I really don't feel like I'm getting more out of my down time. I'm ready to go back to 40 hours.
