  • Why Linux is better

Let all Window$ users keep on thinking that Linux sucks and Vi$ta win$. Excellent! Dream on, Linux will grow and grow, like a Trojan horse. It's Micro$oft's worst nightmare. Micro$oft acknowledges that fact (coorporation with Novell/SuSe-, Xandros-, Linspire-Linux distros) infinitely... more

Sorry but it's just plain misleading. 0day kernel hacks, not to mention other exploits (rootkit sound a familiar term>), yes there are tons of nix malware - no backdoors? hahahaha! ; yes drivers are needed. But while i do use windows, i also do use linux, and i prefer linux and i'd never run windows without there being a necessity. Why? Any OS is as only as good as it's admin, but quite frankly, i feel it's just a better system. i like the control, i like that i don't have to use proprietary software (but i may if i so choose), and i love the fact that my fingers never need leave the kb, unless i want them to. Yes, learning shell in any OS is hard if you've not already done it before, but once you know it, it's ease. Now having used windows cli a little and nix cli a lot, i find nix more straightfoward and logical but i have hardcore geek friends that also operate windows cli with the same ease with which i move about in nix. But for me, nix is better, i don't like having to shell out dollars because my system is no longer supported. i find i don't worry about that with nix, but damn finding drivers can be a ***** sometimes!

Don't wait years for bugs to be fixed? I'll just ignore the fact that wi-fi didn't work for years... Stability? Within my first week of using Ubuntu it crashed maybe 30 times. I shit you not. These crashes required full-blown restarts - on Windows, just the applications crashed, meaning they were solved with a simple Ctrl+Alt+Delete. You know, it's not that I hate Linux, it's that I hate Linux fans like these.

Good article, very informative, but ,obviously, not good when you want to compare the two "OS"s side by side.
