There goes that Chris Crum, telling it like it is again. "Google is no longer suggesting that you should be listed in relevant directories. In fact, they've even removed the suggestion from their webmaster guidelines, as Brian Ussery noticed."

I'm sorry but I agree with Google. With all the effort that goes into building links from Directories and links pages how much actual traffic comes from that ....very little!!! SEO is a dying trade, business needs to realise that the new style of SEO will be to communicate via blogs, forums, creating good relevant content websites!

Google has made some moves to their Webmaster's Guidelines entries that may indicate a devaluation of Yahoo and DMOZ Directory listings and other directories in general.
