The shirt's uncool, is it? All of my t shirts come from The Mountain or Liquid Blue. I must be the uncoolest of uncool. That said, I hope the extra sells from memeists help the mountain make moar new designs for next year!

This is almost like an 'Aesop's Fable' of the internet... ...of which the moral is: 'Too many people with too much time on their hands will end up doing stuff like this. Sending a tacky t-shirt to the top of Amazon's sales rankings is a fairly innocent example. The 'porn-bombing' of YouTube last week, less so. However, they are all part of the same trend: that any internet site that relies on customer sales/public votes can be sabotaged by the web-savvy. Now, I'm not against this on principle. Many of the comments left on the T-shirt's Amazon review page were, to quote the article, freakin' hilarious. I just wonder what could be achieved if this undoubted creative talent were channelled into something, god forbid, original. Because this is all getting rather old hat, isn't it? Yes, we all now know that a web community acting with one aim can be extremely powerful. But random pranking can only be interesting for so long. Excuse me while I clamber onto my high horse, but when does this influence to get used to actually change something for the better? Granted, it won't be so much fun. But, in the long run, far more rewarding than buying naff t-shirts for the sake of a cheap gag.

From the page: "Wolf shirts are super hot right now," he said. "It's the year of the wolf, I guess."
