I can't say I agree or disagree, but I think the problem starts with kids. Why is it so damn cool to waste your time playing football, and punishable un-cool to be smart? I'm no expert, but I'd say thats where it starts.

"One if five Americans thinks the sun revolves around the Earth" WTF!? @#$%!!! What it this the 1600's? Stories like this scare the beejezus out of me.

Definitely I believe that America is dumbing down due to us being consumed so much as a pop-culture driven country. Impressions of what I think at the same time I can bitch about the lack of intelligence but for the 'most' part the liberties here are not to be taken granted for.

To respond to two responses:
"Who stumbles an article on the second page?" Probably someone who read the article all the way through, then hit the thumbs up. Easy to see how that might happen. And to the dim bulb who said, "I want to leave this place ... Is it too late?" I say, no, go for it, dude. I'm sure your departure will only improve the place. And third (OK, three), the biggest idiots around here are the ones who write "From the page" and paste in what we just read on the page. How is that a 'review'?

I want to leave this place. But at the same time, I'd like to see whether it's worth trying to change it. Is it too late?
