Words like capitalism, profits, and consumerism have sadly become dirty words in our society and it's only because America has been slowly descending into collectivism and the American people by and large have become socialists and communists and don't even realize it..or worse yet,they don't even care.
You know, I really don't blame foreigners anymore when they make fun of Americans as being stupid. There's a reason for it. We Americans have become dumbed down and ignorant. I'm so sick of the sheeple out there getting their panties in a bunch over all the alleged horrors of greedy corporations seeking profits and capitalism run amuk. As much time as people devote to focusing on big businesses, I wish they would devote that same time twofolds to the government. That's the real monopoly, the real evil entity you need to keep an eye on. If you didn't have all this big government then you wouldn't be having problems with big businesses cozying up to the government for political favors and protections. You're focusing on the wrong thing as the scapegoat. It's government....stupid!
I also don't understand people who even bitch and moan about the good things capitalism brings us like..... oh, all these choices, life is more complicated, all the excess and conveniences and consumerism....oh, the horror! I tell you what, go back in time you simpletons and live in the old Soviet Union where you can live a simple, yet depressing life where you have to wait in line for your vodka. God, get me a gun already so I can blow myself away. This world is just driving me insane. People just don't even like liberty anymore. Disgusting!
Let me add a little caveat here. I don't have a problem with people honestly pointing out and criticising bad things about various businesses and boycotting or whatever. That's all fine. That's the marketplace working. I just have a problem with unions and other businesses who can't take the heat of the competition putting out false propoganda because they want to hurt a business that is having more success than them and thus want the government to come in and hurt their competition. Then people just lap up that propoganda and turn this into some socialist class warfare where somehow the "little guys" are good and the big guys are evil and we should hate capitalism and ask for government to crack down on it. So much of the bad things said about walmart are also uncalled for and are down right lies and half-truths. The so-called poor treatment of their employees blah blah blah. Nevermind they don't have to work there anyway. Nevermind that the real slave holder is the government, not these businesses, but no government is to be worshipped and we're to distrust the business world like the good little Marxists we are. Good little government citizens out there, go ahead and keep bending over. You apparently really like taking it in the ass except this won't be a one night stand. The government will be there when you wake up and oh baby, it will have its chain and ball and its whip, but it won't be pleasureful.
