AdventureSeeker7 rated 2 days ago- From the page: "America's Most Walkable Neighborhoods With gas at $4 a gallon, there's never been a better time to live in a walkable neighborhood. "
My neighborhood scored a miserable 12. The Detroit suburbs are not very walk friendly.- From the page: "America's Most Walkable Neighborhoods With gas at $4 a gallon, there's never been a better time to live in a walkable neighborhood. "

nez46 rated 3 days ago- And of course, Nashville scores 2nd in the least walkable cities of the US.... Now that MTA has cut 6 important bus routes and raised their fares to a whopping $4.80 for an all-day pass, more peeps than ever will find out for themselves just how bad walking in Nashville is, and lord let's hope they don't have to use the bathroom while out on the stroll, since there are only 2 public access crappers in the whole damned downtown area....

Cavale rated 5 days ago- This is neat. But it doesn't take into account things like availability of sidewalks, crime rates and aggressiveness of drivers. If it did, Orlando would have a score of 0.

ericthehamster rated 7 days ago- An interesting concept. A website where you can insert your address, and it gives you a "walk score" (1 - 100, with 100 being the best). An excellent tool for those wishing to choose a sustainable way of living, and in particular, reduce their reliance on the internal combustion engine. It is designed for the US, but also works for Canada and the UK. Make sure you include your post code, or it will be calculating it forever. I gather it isn't entirely perfect, and didn't agree with the score of 69 it gave my address in Marple. I am less than half a mile from the town centre, where there is a more than respectable array of shops, cafes and restaurants, and even a little old-fashioned cinema. The park and library are only a little beyond the main shops. You could survive very easily without a car here.

AsymptoticFaery rated 7 days ago- Great that people are considering this more when looking for or deciding upon a place to live and even settle. I definitely appreciate and desire this trait in a city. It's great for getting regular exercise, living more sustainably/efficiently and to be able to get out and gain more experiences in life. I am very much a homebody, but I also enjoy seeing what's out there and cities with a high level of "walkability" are most likely places that are full of culture and many interesting resources. Although in Canada, Montreal is definitely a city with a high walkability score...as well as Vancouver. I am not surprised to see San Fran up at the top. In fact, depending on how things might go in the near future, it could be a place where I might be living temporarily...so being a place with a high walkability score will come in handy for (excluding the reality that the place has a high COL). I agree with others...that the site needs to update a bit. I have a feeling it will very soon with all of the economically-oriented changes occurring to make people value efficiency and "green" elements of living.

It's far from perfect, but this is a fantastic resource and I hope the idea takes off.

TS-guy rated 8 days ago- From the page: "Walk Score ranks 2,508 neighborhoods in the largest 40 U.S. cities to help you find a walkable place to live. "

SamKoritz rated 8 days ago- Enter a (physical) address here & get a "walkability" score -- based on how easily you can walk to stores, restaurants, shops, etc. Excellent if you're planning to move.

adventurerneil rated 4 weeks ago- A cool website that lets you know how much you can reach by foot from a given address. Very important for people who like to stroll!

Ninjasha rated 7 weeks ago- It may need to be verified by an in-person visit, but it should give people a halfway decent idea of how walkable a potential neighborhood will or won't be when shopping around for a new place.
