- No no no no no! Assuming that Wagamama USA is anything like the English version, this food chain is to be avoided at all costs. I've eaten at Wagamama twice (the second time under duress). Each time the food was extremely bland and unpalatable. If you love Japanese food, you will hate Wagamama.
Having said that, my (very discerning) girlfriend informs me that Wagamama used to be very good some years ago. I can only hope that the US version retains the cuisine of the old UK chain. It seems that the founder of Wagamama, Alan Yau, sold the chain in 1997. This may explain its decline.
