How early 90s is this video? Regardless, this is some interesting technology and I don't really understand why I don't see it mentioned more often. This was stumbled in 2005, and I haven't seen mention of it, since. It's a pity they only really mention the military applications, because so much could be done with this thing.

The potential of this is amazing. Too bad the video plays up the military applications.

Looks fun. But why do they all have guns? I don't believe I would want that in my virtual reality...

This was stumbled in 2005? You'd think we'd all have one by now. FTP: "How it works: Virtusphere consists of a 10-foot hollow sphere, which is placed on a special platform that allows the sphere to rotate freely in any direction according to the user's steps. Wearing a wireless, head-mounted display the user is able to walk and run being immersed into virtual environment. The movement by the user is replicated within the virtual environment. The same hardware set can be used for different applications by changing only the software applications."

I thought I saw somewhere that the Army was trying to develop a game in conjunction with this to make America's Army (The Game) more realistic. Definitely Want.
