the only big downside is that they "develop a linux client" since quite some time now and _nothing_ is apparently happening, not even an early alpha/bet...

 jsaettem rated 26 months ago- The quality of Ventrilo's voice communication is unarguably very high. However! Offering merely two choices, one free (eight slot limit) version and one (at LEAST 1000 slots) version, only granted to hosting companies is a terribly narrow view by the company. Plus, this makes me dislike them even more: "Anyone who provides access to a Ventrilo server that is not version 2.3 is committing fraud."

also, their restrictions (max number of clients = 8, port for server cant be changed) in the newer server / client versions arent a really smart move (at least imho)...
other than that, i can really reccommend to test it out if you havent done so, though you should choose the 2.2.0 version if you think about making use of it with more ppl :)
