Lets assume for a sec that the US was trying to bait Venezuela by the intrusion into the airspace. How is making a big deal out of it going to help. You have just proven that it gets under your skin, and the UN is just going to ignore them. Geez how hard is it to escort the plane out of your airspace with two of your fighters and send the bill to the US navy.

Violating another country's airspace is a pretty serious offense, especially given the parties involved. Now, I really don't think they needed to fly a plane over La Orchila to get any intel... so maybe it was a mistake? You never know with this US' government... Now, at the same time, I'd suggest any outsiders to consider going down to Venezuela and really opening their eyes to what is happening. I'm so surprised at how blinded people get just because they dislike (and with due reason!) US/many Western governments and their international and national policies. People, please, just because Bush, Blair, etc are evil, corrupt and highly incompetent, doesn't mean that Chavez et al. are good!!!!!

After attempted coups, etc, the Venezuelan people have a right to be concerned about a US military plane that violated airspace last month. We don't hear much about this in the news. Venezuela has a democratically elected government and the US government (that has its own issues these days) needs to leave them alone. thanks compabutch for posting this. http://compabutch.stumbleupon.com/

Venezuela's foreign minister intends to make a formal complaint to the U.N., after a U.S. military plane violated air space above the Venezuelan island of La Orchila last Friday.
