- The first veggie pride parade in North America will take place in New York City on May 18, 2008. The procession will begin at 12 noon in the Old Meat District and will culminate in Washington Square Park, where a festival of rock music, speakers, and exhibitors will take place. This US-based parade is inspired by the Veggie Pride Parade in Paris, the first of its kind ever to take place in the world and has been taking place annually since 2001.
