The E-book has good information in it, and I'll likely read it all to help me make the transition. As a former vegetarian turned meat-eater now pondering the switch back, it always amazes me how people who have gone vegan tend to fall into the "preachy" trap even when consciously trying NOT to! Indeed, I don't see the problem with continuing to use milk, cheese, and eggs so long as they're small-farm organic products - but while he argues that any step towards giving up meat is good, and that we shouldn't see the different forms of vegetarianism on a moral hierarchy, he clearly adheres to this hierarchy himself and preaches against continuing to use milk, eggs, cheese, and yogurt (even though cruelty-free, organic, environmentally-conscious versions are available, he doesn't mention these). I think that, if there's one thing stopping me from making the switch back, it's the religious undertones that often creep into arguments about adopting a vegetarian lifestyle. I'm not saying religious reasons aren't valid. I'm just saying that using religious argumentation tactics (appealing to intuition, "you know it's right," using abstinence-model, Alcoholics-Anonymous logic like "falling off the wagon," if you "slip up" and eat meat) turns my stomach nearly as much as animal cruelty does. I've already cut back my meat consumption and what I DO eat is mostly organic. Even with these changes, I'm still sometimes horrified that I can eat meat products so casually, even knowing how they got to my plate. I think that alone is enough to re-think my cooking strategies.

While the idea of an e-book on how to become a vegetarian may seem silly to those of us that have already given up eating meat, we must remember that there are people out there that may want to give vegetarianism a try but have no support or no idea on where to start. For those people, this is a good resource of information that isn't preachy and presents the facts in a clear manner. So if you are interested in giving it a try, check this out.

Veggie-ness is not that hard to do, just stop eating meat! It's not that hard to throw a bag of vegetables, rice, and a little bit of delicious sauce into a pan and heat it up. Consume that baby, and you're good. People who cannot eat healthily as a vegetarian probably do not eat healthily as a meat eater either.

Well I have tried and failed before, so I think I will peruse this. I feel like such a hypocrite as I know I could not slaughter or kill an animal myself, but yet I go on picking up my tidy packets at the store and ordering my steaks. Time to quit! And its a new year so good time. And besides, Carmelite religious are vegetarians so I feel that I, as a Secular order member, though not bound to it, should tend that way, too.

Take a live animal, slice it open and try to eat its guts raw and drink its blood while it screams or chirps, usually that make you a veggie unless your a ghoul!
