Be afraid! Be very afraid! But do something about it!

"Monsanto already dominates America's food chain with its genetically modified seeds. Now it has targeted milk production. Just as frightening as the corporation's tactics - ruthless legal battles against small farmers - is its decades-long history of toxic contamination."

Glad to see mainstream attention to Monsanto.

Frightening...we need to wake up and smell the coffee. This scares the hell out of me.

Chilling. Monsanto is a company whose products I'd love to boycott, but in certain areas that's pretty tough. They control 90% of the production of some foods. I don't trust their testing and would love to see more independent testing of their products.

This is the problem with global capitalism: how do you boycott a company that makes 90% of your food and a whole host of other products we don't even know about? Monsanto is infuriating. They should be tried in criminal, not civil court. But of course coporations are "people" that can't be held accountable for crimes.

Monsanto is taking charge of the world's food supply, not just in America, but in IRAQ of all places...According to this article: "In Iraq, the groundwork has been laid to protect the patents of Monsanto and other G.M.-seed companies...As recently as 1980, no genetically modified crops were grown in the U.S. In 2007, the total was 142 million acres planted. Worldwide, the figure was 282 million acres." The issue of genetically modified foods is now a global concern and is imposing an increasing threat to the well being of humanity. I'll leave it at that, as I feel it may be unwise to comment any further on the irreparable actions of Monsanto. Please read this article if you do not know what I am talking about...

Monsanto's Harvest of Fear Monsanto already dominates America's food chain with its genetically modified seeds. Now it has targeted milk production. Just as frightening as the corporation's tactics-ruthless legal battles against small farmers-is its decades-long history of toxic contamination. Another wake up call.

A very nicely done article about the pillaging of our common heritage of agricultural varieties by Monsanto, and the Gestapo-style tactics they are using against small farmers. Chilling, but all part of our new America.
