No one has accurate numbers, but the total may well be in excess of 2 million and could approach some 10 percent of the population," Anthony H. Cordesman, who holds the Arleigh A. Burke chair in strategy at the Center for Strategic & International Studies, a Washington think tank, wrote in a new study published last week."
