I've read about this thing on dozens of WEBsites, but I'm still not convinced that it's a threat to anyone but the paranoid.

RayW2k8: BAHAHAHAHA. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. The Real ID act is a constitutional issue because it violates the tenth amendment. You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. But way to try to tell us to read a document you clearly never studied very hard yourself. The federal government is threatening citizens who don't have the proper ID by prohibiting them from boarding a plane or entering a federal building. On top of that, they're only contributing about 3% of an enormous sum of money needed to install the kind of equipment it would take to get this thing off the ground. The rest of the money comes from the state, which means taxes for a program that no one really wants in the first place. MIDIot: Wrong again. Public opposition is actually killing this thing. It's worse than what this site makes it out to be. Personally, I don't like this site. I think it cites some pretty bad reasons as to why you should be opposed to it. It also doesn't really tell you that there's so much opposition to the act already. Anyways, it'll probably be done away with when Napolitano takes over the DHS.

If there wasnt anything to worry about then they wouldnt be bringing it in through the back door would they !? In England theyre trying to pass a law that will allow the police to demand photo id, without any just cause and if you dont have it they can just throw you in prison
