TLDR. And you have no rights. Just a set of arbitary priveleges which your autocratic government can take away when it wants to.

I'm not thumbing it down because I disagree with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. I'm just thumbing it down because the unannotated text makes pretty tedious reading, unless you're having to research for a thesis or something.

Every rule of this declaration is currently being broken. While this is an excellent aim for humankind, it is not strictly and inexorably enforced, and I'm not sure if it ever will be.

Curious, curious... Article 14, sub 2 This right may not be invoked in the case of prosecutions genuinely arising from non-political crimes or from acts contrary to the purposes and principles of the United Nations. Article 16, sub 1 Men and women of full age, without any limitation due to race, nationality or religion, have the right to marry and to found a family. They are entitled to equal rights as to marriage, during marriage and at its dissolution. Article 29, sub 3 These rights and freedoms may in no case be exercised contrary to the purposes and principles of the United Nations.

Just another useless debate society. Doesn't it seem as though when you send the blue helmets in, you end up with a lot of sexual deviancy from those troops.

It's nice to see this somewhere besides a Scientology pamphlet.

The problem here is that all of the member states that value these things already practice them, as outlined in their own social contracts. The member states that don't value these things don't practice them and never will.Like a lot of things the UN does, it's pleasant but toothless. Also, I am compelled to mention this (as I do every time the UN comes up): CHILD RAPE.

AND ALL VIOLATORS WILL BE...WHAT? FINED? OSTRACIZED? GIVEN A SEVERE TALKING TO? SPANKED? SENT TO BED WITHOUT DESSERT? HAVE THEIR DRIVING LICENSES SUSPENDED FOR 30 DAYS? YES, I THOUGHT SO.
