From the page: "Universal Declaration of Human Rights" Article 1 All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood. Article 2 Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. Furthermore, no distinction shall be made on the basis of the political, jurisdictional or international status of the country or territory to which a person belongs, whether it be independent, trust, non-self-governing or under any other limitation of sovereignty.

Just a timely reminder. . . Looks like a handful of my SU friends got here before I did.

Of course, any and all rights are meaningless without the right to keep and bear arms. "These rights and freedoms may in no case be exercised contrary to the purposes and principles of the United Nations." Now that's comic gold.

I never realized there was a formal definition of Human Rights. Now that I can actually sit down and read them, I see how meaningless they are.

"No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment."

Degrading? Who defines "degrading?" I consider it degrading to have to speak a police officer. That means all local governments are in violation of my human rights. Here are a few things I also consider degrading: Taxes. Parking zones. Paying a redemption fee when I buy a can of soda. Bridge tolls. Speed limits. Stop lights. Among other things.

" 1. Everyone has the right to freedom of movement and residence within the borders of each State. Everyone has the right to leave any country, including his own, and to return to his country."

What about people who are in jail?

"No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his nationality nor denied the right to change his nationality."

Even in cases of treason?

"Men and women of full age, without any limitation due to race, nationality or religion, have the right to marry and to found a family."

What is full age?

"Everyone has the right to freedom of thought" and "to freedom of opinion."

Is it possible for someone to stop me from thinking or forming my own opinion? What is the UN really trying to say here?

From the page: "Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status." Hey look, it's missing age! Ah, discrimination.

Read and weep... the universal declaration of human rights. What happened? Why are not all human beings treated equally anymore? None of the articles mentioned is followed in this world. Why? Cause psychopaths are in power in our world, that's why!
