foodbeast rated 5 weeks ago- they need a site like this for acting. like what alternate people casted for famous roles.

Palindrome rated 7 weeks ago- Interesting stuff

LeonardoDaVinci rated 3 months ago- Alternate histories and "what ifs" are fun, and useful, for several reasons. Its always entertaining to speculate on what if events had gone differently at Normandy, or during the Bay Of Pigs crisis. Its also useful, since we apparently aren't done having wars and world crises, yet. What ifs allow for extrapolations that just might prove to be useful, that is, if they aren't "too" far out.

gddelanoy rated 3 months ago- A bibliography of over 2800 alternate history novels, stories and essays. Now they've done it. The new cattery will NEVER get built.

- An extensive catalog of literature exploring alternative histories.

UncleTheophilus rated 25 months ago- An excellent avenue into exploring counter-factual history.

joemayer rated 26 months ago- This is excellent. Annotated bibliography of a couple thousand books of alternate histories. What would the world be like if the South won the civil war, or Rome hadn't fallen, for example. Definitely have to add a few new things to my list of books to find...

Wobbles rated 28 months ago- "Uchronia: The Alternate History List is an annotated bibliography of over 2700 novels, stories, essays and other printed material involving the "what ifs" of history.

- This is a source for books of this type. I can see its appeal for anyone who knows history well. I find it a challenge maintaining a grasp of real-life history.
- Whatever it is called, alternate history somehow involves one or more past events which "happened otherwise" and includes some amount of description of the subsequent effects on history. Perhaps the most common themes in alternate history are "What if the Nazis won World War II?" and "What if the Confederacy won the Civil War?", but alternate Napoleons, Roman Empires, and Kennedys are also popular subjects."

cedarwaxwing rated 30 months ago- What an interesting idea. Cataloging historical "what-ifs"!
