If I started digging in my back garden I'd end up somewhere south of New Zealand, just my luck cold and wet. Sure there's no need to when I have that right here in Dublin albeit on dry land, well land anyways. Maybe. I have you guessing now don't I? Where would you end up?

Do not try this at home. All I have now is a saltwater geyser in my backyard.

Countless children (and adults) have wondered where they would end up if they started digging straight down (ignoring the material and methods). Now we have the answer! I live in Britain, if I dug to the otherside of the world I'd end up in The Sea! Nearest nation seems to be New Zealand. Young 13andbored certainly seems taken with the place "Why did fate cause me to land up in a Calvinist city at the bottom of NZ that has utterly no charm and is hundreds of miles from anywhere?" Cheer up, your blog's not bad, doesn't South America look close? Find out where you'd end up...
