- most of the comments scare me. everyone seems to be appalled that the country spends its money on the city and not on hand outs.they say the rich that go there need to be using it to feed the hungry. well i question you this, what have you bought that was unnecessary, how about a cell phone or the newest apple laptop? you defiantly don't have to have those, a LAN line and a old desktop works fine here, i had no porblem with either. and the labor force there isn't slave, those people signed up for it and are paid, maybe not much, but they are willing to work for it and do it voluntary, and i see no problem with that, if they don't like it, find work else were. people are not helpless victims of the corporations, we are the ones who work for them and they ones who give them power, just like the government, and we are defiantly not slaved by them, it s our own choice that we let them do as they do. im personally in support of this place, it gives jobs to thousands of people, from construction workers to hotel staff to restaurant waiters. its helping the middle class, not punishing it for not being wealthy. and it will bring about a increase in the standard of living, which is a good thing.

- I'm so mesmerized by this place! It gets on my nerves how many people have to hate just because it's in the middle east instead of America or Europe. They're freaking HUMAN, and have created a breathtaking example of innovation. I'm inspired by it.

Dubai in 1990 prior to the craziness The same street in 2003 Last year buna en iyi aciklama arap ve yag olayidir.. ama mimarligin "dusey" gelisimi icin guzel ornekler.. petrol bitiyor.. gelir kaynagi olarak mimariyi dolayisiyla da turizmi hedefliyorlar.. cok zekice.. bunu yiyecek cok adam var dunyada..

- Aaaah! It's so beautiful, Dubai is an example of the 21st century! :) I love big cities, but I am afraid of heights. Some of them look like cakes, yum. :P

- "This is not oil money" my ass. A lot of it is money embezzled out of Iran. It's not dubai's oil money, but it most definitely is oil money.
