i had a friend [we commuted to college one semester] who would see a turtle in the road and try to hit it with his tire right on the edge of the shell to make it skitter across the asphalt...cruel sob if ya ask me...kinda like those catch and release fishers...

i had a friend [we commuted to college one semester] who would see a turtle in the road and try to hit it with his tire right on the edge of the shell to make it skitter across the asphalt...cruel sob if ya ask me...kinda like those catch and release fishers who throw the fish back. anyway, one day i asked him , "do you believe in an afterlife?" he did, and i said ,"well aren't you gonna feel like a complete ass when you reach the pearly gates and st peter greets you in the form of a turtle or better yet, you're the turtle and he's behind the wheel saying, "come on jason i'm ready for some fun?'" then i laughed maniacally---mwahhahahahaaa
he didn't torture turtles while i was in the vehicle with him from that point.
i prefer to think there is an afterlife [or reincarnation] and those we mistreat in this life, kinda of like a penance, we must spend a part in the victim's form suffering the same tortures inflicted by other cruel, sadistic beings....and the world goes round.
