jodles discovered 16 months ago- From the page: "Yad Vashem lambasted a group of visiting German Catholic bishops on Tuesday for comparing the situation in the Palestinian territories with the Holocaust, calling the contentious remarks "political exploitation and demagoguery" and a gross distortion of history. " good for yad vashem. i was just there in december, and for these catholics to go somewhere so emotionally charged and compare the attempted mass exctinction of an entire people to a situation they obviously know nothing about baffles me. not only are they completely wrong, but they have disrespected all 6 million people who are remembered there, as well as all survivors of the holocaust. if they are even going to publically say something stupid like that, yad vashem and mt. herzel are definitely not the places to say it. arg....ignorance and stupidity makes me angry. i will say that yad vashem is beautiful and sad. there is a room three or four stories high with books holding the stories of all the victims that the state of israel can get ahold of, so that no one's story is ever forgotten and nothing like that can ever happen again. my grandparents' story is somewhere in those books.
