"donate" for extra "borrowing" privileges, "donate" for a dvd copy of the website. sorry i guess it's harder and harder to maintain the delusion that this is a library.

@Devilbunny Yeah... uh.. I don't care. My public library lacks many of the books that I can acquire here, and I don't have to pay for the ridiculously expensive library card.

It's a great idea...but what about the copyrights? Does this person have the legal right to effectively publish these books? No, (s)he's not making a profit from it, but neither do free public libraries...and they have something they are not afraid to share. Proof that they have permission from the authors and/or publishers to lend out the books as this person is claiming. I'd rather visit my local public library, and get a real book I can read while I'm riding the bus or train or stuck standing in line somewhere, instead of being tied to the computer to read something that does not benefit the hard-working authors in any way, shape or form.
