The best trilobite hunting is in Nova Scotia. I have found lots of them up near the Minus Basin.

Aha ... another trilobite site; this one is really good. Ya know, ya gotta be a special guy to have such a devotion to these creepy crawlers. Fascinating. Now if I could just find time to peruse the site. I am amazed at how ubiquitous trilobites fossils are. I once went on an "expedition" to search for fossils in West Virginia. It wasn't difficult, there were zillions of them in the trailings of an old mine (just slightly less than bezillions). I think I gave my specimens to the kids in the neighborhood. I came home one day from work during the summer and they had a "science museum" displayed out by the sidewalk (one of my favorite things about northside Richmond ... sidewalks!) Anyway ... admission was $0.25. So I paid my admission and in a the spirit of philanthropy donated my humble trilobites and some ammonites (no, not Mennoites!) that I bought in Nepal, of all places. The trip to West Virginia was considerably cheaper than the trip to Nepal, but WVa was not, with regard to fossils, less interesting. I am left with just one question, why did the trilobites go extinct before the dinosaurs? Was this a global extinction or did some voracious creature with a taste for trilobites just gobble them up? Do you think they tasted anything like lobster? Crawfish, maybe? -janobite

Trilobites are primitive arthropods, and they appear in the early Cambrian, so where did they come from? Not special creation, that's for sure! ;)
