I'm sorry but I hate tower defense games. Maybe if my friend played something, anything other than TD games then I might try them.
However, as it is if I want to play a TD type scenario then I'd just pop in Dawn of War and have my Chaos army fortified with turrets; then, after I'd get bored, I'd eventually slaughter my enemy with a massive zerg... but that's not really that strategic now is it?
