The English teacher who was jailed and narrowly escaped 40 lashes for allowing children in her class to call a teddybear 'mohammed' has received special treatment and been pardoned, no doubt in response to the worldwide storm of protest that this latest piece of extremist nonsense provoked. Lets not forget though that other men and women in Sudan have not been so fortunate. Religious extremism is no basis for a just legal system anywhere.
