    It is interesting how politics work. What is more interesting is how the Dems kept attacking Bush and wanting out of Iraq and even Afghanistan, now that they are big time in charge, we are still in Iraq and increasing our fight in Afghanistan. When we went in I supported it, but I also said that we cannot be there for too long or it will bleed us dry. The Iraqis are not doing so hot without us and they should be paying for more of our involvement.

    I don't have enough data, or time to research it, to make a valid opinion...and i think that condition is common. but i have heard so much dogma and rhetoric that it is refreshing to hear "the other side". until we personally have reviewed the evidence, we can only state opinions, and guess. what i can say is that politics is a dirty business, and i assume the worst about who is "in bed with" whom.

    this is great. those who thumbed this down are idiots. CONTEXT? Um, the context is pretty clear isn't it? They're talking about IRAQ, SADDAM HUSSEIN, WEAPONS, etc. The "no WMDs" "bush lied" crowd are 100% politically motivated. That Bush was an evil hitler was pretty much a foregone conclusion before he even took office. Please people, have a commitment to the truth and have better memories.

    Saddam was a bad guy and, if left unchecked, would have been a menace to the region. This site quotes a bunch of Democrats who acknowledged this fact. The thing is, containment was working, and the Bush Administration had to be very selective in their assessment of intelligence in order to make the case for war. This was fundamentally dishonest, and "Bush lied" is a reasonable summary of what happened.

    They lied too. There was no evidence for WMD or ability to harm the U.S. Proving your opponents wrong doesn't make you right.
