Hemp is great. It's an environmentally responsible source of fiber, fuel, plastics, etc. I am totally behind the hemp legalization and usage movement. I'm all for the complete worldwide decriminalization of any use and cultivation of any plant from the Cannabis genus. This article, however, is full of shitty "info." ALL (I repeat ALL) plants have male and female reproductive organs, whether we're talking about moss, redwoods, cacti, or cannabis. Sometimes both male and female organs are on the same plant and these plants species are called "monoecious," like in lilies. Other times, only the male or only the female organs are found on a single plant and these species are called "dioecious," like in cannabis. Cannabis sativa (hemp) is part of the family Cannabaceae, which also has the species Humulus lupus (a.k.a. "hop"), which gives some beers their flavor. Scientists classified hop and cannabis in the same family because they have similar physical traits and share a similar genetic makeup. If cannabis actually were an alien plant, it would be quite a coincidence if it had so many things in common with hop and the other 168 species in the family Cannabaceae. The author mentioned you have to look at a grass blade's DNA to determine if it's a male or female. WRONG. A "grass" is a plant that belongs to the huge family Poaceae. Grasses are dioecious, having both male and female parts on the same flower (corn is an exception). Yes, grasses, like all angiosperms, have flowers. Thus, most grasses aren't either male or female. Furthermore, grass "blades" are its leaves. The sexual organs of a grass are on its separate flower, not on its leaves. Looking at a plants leaves to tell if it's a male/females is like looking at a human baby's shoulder to see if it's male or female. It would be stupid to take a DNA sample of the shoulder to determine her/his sex because you could uh...look at his/her genitals! In summary, this guy needs to read a book. Don't worry, it's in non-governmental, peer-reviewed books too for all you conspiracy theorists out there...

Odd mix of fact and distortion...commercial hemp is not usable for abuse...nor is it a miracle cure.

hemp!=marijuana. Marijuana is a type of hemp, but that doesn't mean that it is good. This is a logic fail.

Many more people die from alcohol-poisoning then from THC-use yearly. In fact, the abolishment of Marihuana was mainly an economical decision and has until today never been a health issue. In fact, there are more medical uses for marihuana then for alcohol and tobacco. Many prominents in the world have been known to use marihuana, including presidents. One recent president was known to have been addicted to alcohol and cocaine, but let's not talk about Bush for one time..
