Fumin-Human discovered 23 months ago- From the page: "HEMP IS ILLEGAL BECAUSE BILLIONAIRES WANT TO REMAIN BILLIONAIRES!" Interesting compilation of cannabis facts. Thanks to Earl for the link.

- Lots of good information here, but I can't give it a thumbs up because of the last paragraph. Plants from space? lol, someone must have been smoking a joint while writing this. The first 3/4 was good, the last the author must have been high! Also, hemp is a different "breed" of plant than marijuana. Marijuana has been bred to contain a large about of thc for the express purpose of getting high. Hemp has a negligible amount of thc in it so it makes a very poor quality drug. hemp and marijuana are both hemp plants, but *hemp* plants are not marijuana. Understand?

dubbinski rated 2 days ago- sounds about right

jolie-laide rated 2 days ago- Interesting!

Lambdoid rated 3 days ago- Hemp absorbs CO2 and produces biomass faster than a lot of other cultivated plants including trees, so could be beneficial as a potential dampener on global warming, but only if its fibre is used to make rope, clothes, paper etc. as the carbon would be locked up for quite some time. It appears that it would not be economical to use it as fuel, due to the relative value of the fibre, although I'm sure the leaves and seeds could be used instead. The author clearly doesn't have a clue when it comes to botany. The closest relatives of Cannabis are hops and nettles, which are by no means alien. The fact that it's dioecious(ie having two sexes) is not unique to Cannabis. Many primitive plants like the gymnosperms have dioecious characteristics, and several angiosperms as well. The DNA of Cannabis is much like every other living thing on the planet. The universality of the genetic code(ie the same triplets of DNA bases are translated into the same amino acids during protein synthesis) is the best evidence yet that all living things evolved from a common ancestor. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it, evolution-deniers! I think the author had probably partaken of too much of his favourite herb when he wrote the bit about aliens. Hemp and marijuana aren't the same thing. Hemp is the non-psychotropic northern strain of Cannabis sativa cultivated for its fibre. Marijuana is grown primarily for its mind-altering properties. However, they are the same species. The psychotropic strains only really grow natively in warmer climates. There is another species, Cannabis indica which produces lots of resin and originated on the Indian subcontinent. There are still some questions as to whether these varieties are really separate species at all. Taxonomy is not an exact science, more a matter of opinion. A botanist(classifying by morphology) would not necessarily come to the same conclusions as a molecular biologist(classifying by DNA sequences).

nunya13 rated 3 days ago- PERFECT example about how almost anyone will buy into whatever they are being told as long as some "officials" back it up. Of course, most people fail to realize that these "officials" are people just like everyone else and aren't only in it "for the greater good". They have pockets to line with money too.

- I'm all about celebrating the various uses of hemp and medicinal marijuana but I can't in good conscience thumbs up a page where the writer discusses plants but knows nothing of botany. And to suggest hemp is a plant sent here from aliens in space is just silly.

Nutzilla rated 9 days ago- It also was to get rid of the Mexicans in the Southwest.

- From the page: "In the 1930s, people were very naive; even to the point of ignorance. The masses were like sheep waiting to be led by the few in power. They did not challenge authority. If the news was in print or on the radio, they believed it had to be true."
"In the 1930s" ? That's the story of the whole humanity you just exposed here, from its beginning until now. - From the page: "In the 1930s, people were very naive; even to the point of ignorance. The masses were like sheep waiting to be led by the few in power. They did not challenge authority. If the news was in print or on the radio, they believed it had to be true."
