Most of these are NOT essential for one thing. Second, MOVE ON FROM VLC. Zoomplayer and KMPlayer are vastly superior.

The comments even list more great ideas. Best list of Windows software on the web. No. Seriously.GamePrey totally doesn't get the list. Just because the list is old, doesn't mean the list does NOT contain key software and that this software is no less excellent. I mean, Firefox has been around how long? You wouldn't say you don't want to use it because it's old, right? That's just stupid in my opinion.
