- i hate tree drawings. those that pose them as artwork, or even consider them artwork, i hate you most. tree drawings are like popular hip-hop songs, philistines love it while everyone else knows that it sucks and all sounds the same. ok picasso, you've just finished still life so now you can be creative. that's right, you can draw anything you'd like, whatever comes to mind. oh, i see, you came up with that tree silhouette, that's neat. it's too bad that nobody can admit that they're boring. some people hide behind these tree sketches and consider themselves special. i'm here to tell you that no matter how hard people may try to be unique, they usually admit to being plain by attempting to prove otherwise. one of the most common bits of evidence to prove ones own lack of creativity, is a piece of "tree art". i will assume that this view that I have taken will not be accepted by everyone, but that's to be expected. some people would argue that trees are a part of nature and are nothing but beautiful, but that's not the point. the point is that people deceive themselves into thinking they are putting a refreshing look on an overdone idea. some tree drawings may appear to be original but that's it. go ahead, draw your tree upside down, maybe in an obscure shape, or just be a plain douche and draw a leafless tree during a sunset. it's all terrible and it's all been done. as for the skill involved, psh! there's little to it. it doesn't require a steady hand or an eye for symmetry. there's the trunk, branches, and if you're feeling up to it, some leaves. there's no worrying about messing up because that can be considered your creative take on nature. i don't mind that some people get enjoyment out of drawing trees, but please, don't call yourself an artist, and even worse, don't show anybody your work. i can tell you now that it's a piece of shit. thanks for listening. this is not a personal attack on anyone, just a general opinion.
