Got a letter from Dr Walpurgis -- not very good news.
Well, I bawled.
He said he has a girlfriend and that
anyway I am too young for him.
But I'll write to him again when I'm a bit older.
I feel immensely embarrassed about all this but I am set
upon writing to him again as soon as I am 16.
My heart sank when he told me we couldn't be together.
I'm longing to get to know him, and dream of him all day.
How can I so much as look at another stumbler when
I'm in love with Dr Walpurgis, whom I hardly know?
I wish he would visit me more often.
When I see his photo I feel like crying.
