I suppose one good thing comes out of all this crap - the knowledge that if I ever feel like publishing something, no matter how incompetent I am in my discipline, all it takes to put information out there is access to a computer. Of course everyone knows this on some level, but it doesn't really occur to them that with the age of information brought on by the internet, we have also opened the flood gates that previously held back the majority of "information", which is in fact utter bollocks. When it's just failed humour, it's harmless enough, but the same mechanisms proliferate misinformation and propaganda which serve more sinister agendas. Unfortunately any effort to stamp this out amounts to an attack on freedom of speech and/or the press, which is just as bad really... So we have to live with this shit now. Shame on you, Humo(u)r archives.
