From the page: "Democrats betray the American people They won the mid-terms on the anti-war vote yet have done nothing about Iraq, says alexander cockburn" I agree, with the majority of the population not even listening much to the hawks. The time is half a year ago! There is little to lose politically from a swift exit. We seem to be the major PR liability for the new Iraqi government. The only thing we have to lose is our national ego. The dubious argument that we are "fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them here" holds little weight and completely breaks when the same people who use it talk as if they gave a damn about the people in Iraq! "Hey guys! We have this potentially endless war we feel like wageing against a tactic... Could we maybe borrow your nation for a while? It might get messy and we just put in new carpet in ours."
