If enough women wear this and the word is spread, there might well be an effect of determent. If not, as Freemanhasaposse already said, it will mostly lead to rapists killing their victims in rage. And by the way you better hope your girlfriend doesn't forget what she's wearing.

I keep seeing this. Not that the rapist doesn't deserve this-hell, he deserves worse. But it's basically going to turn a rape into a murder. It does nothing to prevent the rape and just enrages the rapist and gets the woman killed.

This is a damn fine idea. I can't imagine any true feminist not loving this.....as for the lawsuit capacity in the US, remember, each woman has the right to protect herself from attack. I hope these are not only approved everywhere but made freely available like condoms. I hope it's made available everywhere and I hope maybe after eons of sexual abuse at the hands of men, this becomes one small tool to say..."I said NO, motherfucker.....how do you like me NOW?" Personally, I could have used one of these several years ago....and would have with glee. From experience, I'd rather take a beating than a raping. BTW, any man who believes he'd have the ability to murder while there are barbs in his schlong has not appreciated the true sensitivity of said organ.....if a blow to the balls can stop a man so can "vagina dentata".

A thumbs-up as it's worth reading for the freak-out factor, but this was a bad idea when it was first patented a century ago, and it's still a bad idea now. Likely ineffective as most guys are probably going to notice the what appears to be an overly large plastic shell protruding from her vagina before inserting their junk, and I'm not sure about SA but in the US every one of these would be a huge lawsuit, if not assault charges, waiting to happen.

This is a BAD, BAD idea. There are psychotic man-hating women that would love to get their hands on this device.

From the page: "Rapex - dubbed the 'rape trap' - is a product worn internally by women. The hollow inside is lined with rows of razor-sharp hooks, which are designed to latch on to a rapist's penis during penetration. They can only be removed by a doctor. " As HighlyAnonymous syas "This device is completely unethical. I can see women using this to their advantage like the rest of their ill-gotten privileges." One one hand I see where he's coming fro... Actually, no. Fuck you HighlyAnonymous, you're HighlyADick. Actually, I've just been on "his" page... I don;t know what to believe - I like this feeling (as always). I love this thing! Another stumbler writes: "Attacks a symptom rather than the actual problem." The symptom of having a rapist's cock up your flute? And, pray tell, what is the *actual* problem? The symptom is more an inconvenience, like a runny nose when you have the cold, for instance.

Here's hoping cammiepanda reads articles more carefully in the future.

Here's to hoping the woman remembers to visit the doctor before getting it on with her significant other...ouch
