These things are always fucking awful. It's like they just query the HMV catalogue and spit out a couple of random items from the same marketing-invented genre as whatever you put in.Protip: if you want something like this to work, you can't just get MBAs, programmers and marketers involved. You have to get people who understand the culture you're indexing. That means paying a lot of scruffy individuals of all sorts, who base their whole personal identities on being able to name every artist of whatever sub-sub-subgenre they have chosen as their own personal domains, to sit down and generate an entire ontology of their own personal musical hierarchy.Unfortunately that's going to be really damned expensive and is ultimately trumped by the fact that people who like music tend to know a bunch of other people who like that music and who can already recommend stuff they would like.

No listings for artists that aren't part of the mainstream. Lame.

HAHAHAHAHA! First, it didn't recognize Gangpol und Mit or Niwouinwouin. Fair enough, they're both pretty obscure. So, I put in Excepter, Crystal Castles, and MGMT, and set the slider all the way to "Lesser Known Music". It recommended Bruce Springsteen.
