The Age is a whole lot better than the junk publications that pass for newspapers in Australia. Good reporting and the print edition is totally worth checking out.

Best Australian newspaper, but the paper edition is a better read than the online edition... altough it's improving, hence the thumbs up this time...Christopher

Is it my imagination, or is The Age turning into a tabloid? It was always a Labour pseudo-left paper, but with all the blogs, entertainment reporting, lifestyle articles and other non-news, it's turning into the Herald Sun, though perhaps without infamous blockhead Andrew Bolt. The Age leads with a sex story about Elvis and Marily Monroe, a trendy cafe, a video of a "semi-naked rooftop chase", an article about cycling, the weather and some sensationalist headline items. What happened to real news? Perhaps the worst aspect of all this is that it continues to pander to the professional mid-left with a trashy superficial version of left-leaning politics, while really delivering much the same right-wing muck as all the other media.

For those who want to keep up with the news Down Under. Melbourne broadsheet that allegedly caters for leftist intellectual chardonnay-swillers. :)
