An awareness reminder not for the faint of heart. This is just a sad testament of the violence against women and oppression in general. Sometimes I just don't understand certain people.

Dear Lover of Freedom: Over the past two weeks, we have watched Iranians in the streets of Teheran protesting against a stolen election and stolen lives. Brave young women have been in the forefront of these confrontations with the killer elites backing the mullahs'' theo-fascist regime. These women have urged their male counterparts on in their demonstrations against a rigged vote and even more in behalf of liberty. They have rushed to rescue men being beaten to death by the Revolutionary Guard and basiji bullies. Recognizing the key role they have played, the Ahmadinejad regime has subjected them to particularly sadistic punishment. You have probably seen the horrifying video of the murder of one of these young women, Neda Agha-Soltari. Her death in a gutter has become the summary moment of this uprising. The women risking their lives in Tehran are crying out for democracy. But they are also driven by outrage against the repression that characterizes their daily lives and prospects in a world ruled by male "guardians". What these courageous Iranian women are fighting against in their struggle for the personal liberty we take for granted is the subject of this video, "The Violent Oppression of Women in Islam". This is the reality that women in Iran and throughout the Middle East must deal with. Please watch it. Please send it to your friends. Please post it on your websites.
