The article reads as you expect it might , delivering the reader into the mind of a young girl remembered through the experiences of an old woman wanting her story to be told as she wants it to be remembered. This is because Christa Schroeder may have been one of Hitler secretaries but since this memoir is told in the past tense one get the impressions that she knows that history will see her in an unfortunate light She tells her story in the voice of a chatty bitty who had the ear of a very evil being but no power to do anything but sit and listen.

It's not often that you get a first hand look at this sort of insanity.
