the genius of the ted talks is that they are short. Really interesting subjects given not enough time makes you want more..

These people have directly and completely converted a single-celled organism from one species to another, one whose DNA they constructed themselves from scratch. It's one of those achievements that completely reset my viewpoint. They're using that achievement as a jumping-off point. As Venter says: "we're not playing".

Stunning talk. If you have any interest in science I would give this my highest reccomendation. And if you dont have any interest, watch it anyway.

Awesome video on programing life. This is pretty much where programmers will be in the next 5 - 10 years :D Mycoplasma genitalium, They succeeded in supplanting the chromosome inside using a restriction enzyme to eat up the old chromosome and wham ... new cell. WOW ... I look forward to researching this stuff

Its like Jurassic Park but its real. PS Watch the question and answer session at the end of the talk to see Craig Venter get huffy with the presenter.
