  • Joshua Klein on the intelligence of crows | Video on TED.com

Could have sworn I had favorited this earlier... They may be smart, but the thing with Crows is that they're also colossal assholes. I see them ganging up on larger birds in my neighborhood, screeching at anyone or anything that walks by their "turf", ripping apart garbage... more

I knew crows were smart, but I didn't realize they would make those kinds of leaps in order to accomplish tasks. Very interesting

That was pretty interesting, never expected crows to be able to do that.

Crows have adapted to living amongst us. They saved themselves from extinction. Excellent TED.

I see them ganging up on larger birds in my neighborhood, screeching at anyone or anything that walks by their "turf", ripping apart garbage bags, etc. I have a sneaking suspicion that they're upsetting the ecosystem in ways we're not yet aware of. It's these small scavenger animals now that are becoming just a little too successful in their survival (thanks to us, of course) for the good of things, I think.

Potentially a very positive relationship between human beings and animals is possible.
