Taoism is an important predecessor and influence on Zen Buddhism. This site explains the basics of Tao.

From the page: "This site provides teachings on the philosophical Taoism, its Masters, sources and practices, including the study of The Book of Changes (I-ching), and of the teachings on emptiness taught by Master Hui Neng."

It seems there is a new look of the site and also a new article on the wu or emptiness. It is worth reading.

What is Taoism? - A way of life inspired by the cosmic rhythms. The philosophy of Taoism is represented by the adaptation to temporal conditions, while its practice is the manner of accomplishing this goal.

As with many sites on pretty much any subject on the web, this gives a good basic examination of Taoism. It's a good stepping stone to further study and research.

Interesting site. Although I do not consider Taoism on the same spiritual level as the Holy Trinity, Taoism does seem to offer a foundation for self awareness and a deeper connection to the world in which we live.
