StumbleUpon is Hiring in San Francisco! StumbleUpon is the most popular web surfing extension for Firefox, with over 5 million registered members. We are an independent business unit operating within eBay Inc, and we are ready to expand our team. StumbleUpon is seeking an experienced and driven Community Manager to support the activities of our growing 5 million user base. The Community Manager serves as a Community advocate primarily focused on communicating effectively to members through multiple existing channels. In this position, the Community Manager must be a leader and consultant to internal teams releasing products and other customer-facing changes. The Community Manager will contribute to a weekly digest that keeps the company informed about what's going on in the Community, as well as various other communications/marketing-oriented tasks. Interested candidates should be enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and experienced in the various aspects of social media and online community building. Responsibilities: * Effectively communicate with users via blogs, newsletters and daily reviews * Monitor Community Forums, Feedback and answer support emails * Monitor and understand current Community trends, opinions, concerns, general topics of conversation, etc. * Monitor site activity to prevent spam and track current events within the community * Design and implement engaging Community Outreach Programs and plan Community events * Serve as the evangelist for Community programs both internally and externally * Build relationships with cross-functional teams in order to understand their needs and goals, and ensure that the Community perspective is being considered * Serve as the Community Champion by representing the voice of the Community internally * Serve as the lead communication liaison during site issues/maintenance between technical groups, the Community and Public Relations team Desired Qualifications: * Bachelors Degree or equivalent * 5+ years experience in online Community Management * Strong understanding of and passion for StumbleUpon * Excellent writing and editorial skills, including passion for written communication * Excellent verbal communication and relationship building skills * Strong organizational, prioritization and time-management skills * Demonstrated ability to think in a crisis and respond to challenges with innovation * Strong Project Management skills * A track record showing the ability to work effectively in a technical environment * Experience working on a social media or social networking website strongly desirable * Consumer web experience a plus Senior Database Programmer StumbleUpon is looking for a seasoned database programmer to improve our distributed data model and apply it to StumbleUpon. Your work will make the application more scalable through better use of software libraries.
