Regarding everyone commenting on income taxes, there's a lot of wrong facts. If you read and really understand the part of the constitution related to income taxes, you see that no individual is deemed to pay taxes, it's designed for large businesses/corporations. People use this... more

What a bunch of utter drivel and crap. I can't believe that this type of stupidity is mentioned on a site supposedly dedicated to Thoreau. This woman is not some activist for peace or human rights or the environment, she's a spoiled little Libertarian hedonist. Wonder if she's forgoing her Social Security when she retires since it will be there. No, like all of them, she'll be there to collect that check and probably like most Libertarians still trying to keep others from getting the same thing. What is this junk doing in my StumbleUpon? I don't recall putting, "Crazy" as one of my choices.

I started off reading this and thinking that this guy is just another contrarian spouting off because he has a forum. By the time I finished, I could appreciate why a dad would want to give this gift to his child. It will be interesting to see what she does with that gift. :) EDIT: Hm. After reading the comments, I'm enlightened to see that this is a libertarian stance? IDK, I quit listening to their drivel when I realized how crazy Ron Paul was. Anyway, it's an interesting approach. Our government should close the tax loopholes if they don't want anyone to challenge our system. Our system is messed up, but through history, it's the individual citizens who are screwball enough to take a stand nobody else is willing to take who effect change.

If anyone believes having an SSN assigned is proof of identity ... well, I've got some land in NY to sell you. The birth certificate is one of the main proofs you need for a driver's license. Medical treatment records and other things are useful, as well. But you don't actually need the SSN to get a driver's license (unless it was assigned already).
