uggabugga discovered 53 months ago- some pretty interesting interviews here, was looking for some ww2 veterans' stories and stumbled onto it.

applznorngz rated 6 days ago- StoryCorps will be coming to Grand Rapids MN from August 28 - Sept 20 ... What story shall I tell? I'm pretty sure I have a Story.

Pondnewt rated 8 weeks ago- "One of the soldiers was crying..."

Murdocc rated 6 months ago- Each story is so utterly human. It's amazing and I love it.

twocrows rated 6 months ago- Our mission is to honor and celebrate one another's lives through listening. Since 2003, almost 30,000 everyday people have shared life stories with family and friends in our StoryBooths. Each conversation is recorded on a free CD to share, and is preserved at the Library of Congress. Millions listen to our broadcasts on public radio and the web. StoryCorps is the largest oral history project of its kind. Everybody's story matters. Every life counts. Help us reach out to record our history, hopes, and common humanity--and illuminate the true character of this nation.

shpongolina rated 6 months ago- From the page: "You'll laugh, cry and think. These stories come from the souls of individual Americans. Collectively, they are who we are as a people." This is a terrific project - Amy Goodman (democracynow.org) has an extended program that she presents every Christmas that is so heartwarming.

scottlo rated 7 months ago- What a splendid idea for an audio archival project. Once again, I'm late to the game on this. Fortunately, back issues are available as a podcast.

- Great idea, but the ones I've heard on NPR are almost unbearably schmaltzy.
