KarenAK discovered 2 months ago- Problem is that too few women know about this ! Two women who fled forced marriages tell their stories. ...more

raetsel rated 2 months ago- it is really disgusting in this day and age that such atrocities, as told in the stories of these 2 women in this article, are allowed to go on. perhaps the internet will eventually help to fuel enough outrage to really get something done about this sort of mistreatment of human beings.
it is really sad to me that some kid can get screwed by microsoft wiping his customized/autographed xbox clean and everyone knows about it and is upset to the point that he ends up vindicated pretty quickly... or creative can screw their customers and everyone reacts enough to plummet their stock, but things like this have been happening to women in these places for decades (or more) and it just seems to be pushed under the rug.- it is really disgusting in this day and age that such atrocities, as told in the stories of these 2 women in this article, are allowed to go on. perhaps the internet will eventually help to fuel enough outrage to really get something done about this sort of mistreatment of human beings.

TOMTHUMB rated 2 months ago- The German charity Hatun and Can, set up in memory of "honor killing" victim Hatun Sürücü, helps Turkish women who are in danger of becoming victims of violence. Two women who fled forced marriages tell their stories. From the page: "Muslim men don't respect women " she says. "They can't handle it when a woman stands on her own two feet."
